After summer break the Finnish Rally Championship series continued in Turku Rally, which was fifth and penultimate round of the 2015 season. Event was run for two days and Joonas Tokee took SM3 class lead already in the first stage.
After that 20-year-old controlled his class and drove without mistakes. Eventually Tokee and co-driver Jani Salo were fastest 2wd competitor and they won their class with 18,2 seconds.
Tokee is competing his second season with Peugeot 208 R2 and now he reached his second victory in FRC level.
– Right from beginning of the rally we had good feeling to drive and I had full commitment also to the pacenotes. It was nice to lead a class from start to finish, Tokee said.
– Our target had been set to victory, and we achieved that. Big thanks for the whole team. It was enjoyable event, told co-driver Salo.
Class winners narrowed the points difference to leader only to 3,5 points. Finnish Rally Championship will end on 25.-26th September in Tampere-based Pirelli Rally.
– After three weeks we will fight for the Championship title. After this strong performance and good speed there are no extra pressure for us in Tampere, Tokee informed.
